Position Summary

At Empower Pharmacy, we are committed to investing in the next generation of healthcare and business professionals. The Sales Intern role offers students a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience across both our Inside Sales and Sales Development teams, giving them a comprehensive view of how top-of-funnel strategy, outreach, territory planning, and provider engagement drive long-term growth.

Through guided mentorship, cross-functional collaboration, and real-world exposure to the sales lifecycle, this internship empowers students to build critical skills while contributing meaningfully to our mission: expanding access to high-quality, affordable medications that help people live healthier, happier lives.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Conducts comprehensive market research and territory profiling by analyzing healthcare provider segments, referral patterns, and competitive trends to support both inside sales strategy and field-based territory development. Uses this information to identify high-impact outreach opportunities and support campaign targeting.
  • Contributes to personalized sales outreach and engagement efforts by supporting the execution of email campaigns, call initiatives, and educational material delivery—learning how to adapt messaging based on provider needs, patient demographics, and sales objectives. Gains experience navigating provider conversations under guidance from sales mentors.
  • Participates in both virtual and in-person sales initiatives by observing and contributing to inside sales calls, planning sessions, live provider visits, and drop-ins. Develops a foundational understanding of consultative selling, territory coverage, and relationship-building across different stages of the sales funnel.
  • Collaborates cross-functionally with sales operations, analytics, and marketing teams to learn how data, systems, and messaging come together to power the provider experience. Supports reporting activities, lead management workflows, and campaign effectiveness tracking, gaining exposure to core sales technology platforms and performance metrics.
  • Owns a capstone project that addresses a real-world business challenge, such as lead segmentation strategy, conversion analysis, or sales outreach optimization. Works independently and with mentorship to deliver a final presentation to Empower’s Sales Leadership team that demonstrates analytical thinking, initiative, and communication skills.

While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is often required to remain in a stationary position for a significant amount of the workday and frequently use their hands and fingers to handle or feel in order to access, input, and retrieve information from the computer and other office productivity devices.
